18 months after the rule for each product family is adopted.

Discuss my case

The new construction products regulation includes the digital passport. The date arrives family by family: 18 months after the rule for yours is adopted.

What changes

Construction products are grouped into families, such as cement, insulation, windows or bricks. Under Regulation (EU) 2024/3110, the EU will adopt a specific rule for each family setting which data its digital passport contains. Once that rule enters into force, companies in that family have 18 months to have it ready. That is why there is no single date: each family will have its own. The declaration of performance and conformity will eventually be part of that passport.

Who it affects

Manufacturers, importers and other companies selling construction products in the EU, depending on their product family.

What to start preparing

  • Declaration of performance and conformity
  • Product technical documentation
  • Instructions and safety information

Your questions, answered

Is there a date yet?

Not for most products. It depends on when the rule for each family is adopted; from then there will be 18 months.
